So I got one of those new chocoloate phones a while back . When they first
came out, they seemed so cool.. mp3 player, phone, all in one, and really
small.
Well I got one free, or however that works - I have to send in
81 forms and a blood sample and they rebate me my 600 dollars and I have a new
phone contract that doesn't expire until social security kicks in. So this phone
sucks. The first thing is it only holds like 20 mp3's unless you buy an extra
memory card, and those are pretty compressed so they don't sound very good. It
doesn't have a regular output so I can plug it into my stereo or whatever (I
think you can buy an accessory somewhere but I haven't found it).
But
the worst part is the buttons. At FIRST they were cool.. just this touch
sensitve pad thing, modelled after an iPod. But I'm one of those cell-phone only
people, so it goes everywhere, and it takes a beating, and those buttons go off
at will. Not to mention the thing is really slow, so you try to say.. take a
picture, nothing happens, the screens frozen, so you press more buttons - and
then suddenly the phone calls six people, downloads 2 songs, and gets the space
shuttle's coordinants.
What's this have to do with Adam Weaver? Well
first of all Adam Weaver & the Ghosts are one of the best bands around, and
I highly recommend them. I called him up a couple months back to book a show for
them to play with us, but they're on a little hiatus. I saved his number in my
phone so we can try it again another time.. I don't have anyone named Aaron in
my phone, so Adam is the first one alphabetically. And this piece of crap
phone... half the time I open it up to make a call, or set the alarm, or
anything - it calls Adam Weaver. I turn it off, and I don't know if the call
actually went or not. I don't know if his phone rang, or whatever. This happens
a lot. I think it happened at like 4 am today. If it is going through, I'm
guessing he's changed his number by now or I would have heard about
it.
I keep meaning to change him to last name first or something so
that won't happen, but even as I'm typing this I haven't done it yet. I keep
meaning to call and ask him, and apologize.. but the longer I wait, or the more
it happens, the more embarrassed I am by it!
So Adam probably thinks
I'm insane, and in case he runs across this blog - Adam, I'm sorry my phone is
stalking you.
